Oren was born on January 31, 1961, in LaGrange, Illinois, USA. Before entering the showbiz industry, he was a professional hockey player. He dropped out of high school to pursue a career in professional hockey.
Oren is a Former Hockey Player
Koules competed for 3 years in the Western Hockey League. During his career, he played for six teams and also played with three professional teams.
After moving away from professional hockey, he became a commodities trader at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. He was one of the youngest members on the floor. Moreover, he eventually purchased a full membership to the Exchange. However, he sold the exchange and completely left it in 1991.
After trying his hands on professional hockey and in commodities exchange, Koules moved to Hollywood. In Hollywood, he met former Los Angeles Times reporter, Dale Pollock. The duo then formed Peak Productions. The production produced films like Mrs. Winterbourne and Set It Off.
Oren is a Married Man
The 60-year-old actor was married to a talent agent named Risa Shapiro. The couple got married in 1994. The same year, they also gave birth to a child. The couple was together for 13 years. After thirteen years, in 2007, Koules and Shapiro got a divorce.
Then, in 2008, Koules married a businesswoman and restaurateur, Shereen Arazm. The duo first met on a flight from Toronto to Los Angeles. Koules was filming Saw II at the time and Arazm was originally from the same place.

Koules has a total of three children with his two wives. His first son, Miles was born in 1994, the same year Oren got married to Risa.
