Trachtenberg arrived during lunch the second week after the shoot began. When he was initially rejected for access to the set, he set up shop outside near the catering truck and began detailing the advantages of joining the IATSE. IATSE had added 25 new members by the end of lunch.
There was talk about a brief strike as the atmosphere had become fairly heated. The producers and the union eventually negotiated an agreement, and filming resumed.
In 1996, he starred in Robert Rodriguez’s action-horror From Dusk Till Dawn as himself. In the comedy film Beach Movie, written and directed by John Quinn, he played a character called the Husky Guy.
He is also quite renowned for his roles in films such as Girl Fever (2002), Keeping Up with the Steins (2006), and Hello, My Name Is Doris (2015). However, Lyle Trachtenberg never had any success as an actor, despite his initial ambitions.
